One Candian's View of America
This commentary and great compliment to America was just sent to me by a friend. I did a little research before passing it on to you (intro paragraph below). Although the author is no longer with us today - I felt a sense of pride when I read it. I've seen so many verbal attacks on our country of late, especially by Canadians - so this was so nice to see and wanted to share it with you...
"The Americans" was widely revived on the
Internet, on radio and in newspapers in 2001, following the
September 11, 2001 attacks, and again in 2005 in the devastating aftermath of
Hurricane Katrina, despite the large
International aid delivered. Some revivals of the message incorrectly stated that it was newly written as a direct response to the recent crises; in this question of its authorship alone, the address has become a part of
urban legend.
